BERTHA KEIL (KISSER) 1924-
Born: Apr 13, 1924
Date of Passing: Jan 27, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERTHA KEIL (nee KISSER) 1924- 2014 With deep sadness, the family would like to announce the passing of our mother, grandma and oma on Monday, January, 27, 2014. Bertha will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Linda (Brent) and her son, Arnie; her grandsons, Michael (Kristy) and Ryan (Diana) and her four great-grandsons, Jonah, Ronan, Nicholas and Samuel. She will also be sadly missed by her sister, Pauline and her sisters-in-law, Elma and Rose and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Mom was predeceased by her brothers, Fred (Pearl), Simeon (Annie), Joseph (Irene), Martin (Inez), Manny (Mildred), Edward and David; her sisters, Alvina (Henry), Adeline (Walter) and Albertine (Rudy). Bertha was born on April 13, 1924 in Stuartburn, MB to Julius and Natalia Kisser. She was the third youngest in a family of 11 siblings and while they didn't have much in material possessions, they were rich in the love they shared. Bertha married Fred Keil in June 1954 and started their family on a farm in Strasbourg, SK. Bertha moved back to Winnipeg in 1971 with Linda and Arnie and worked in various jobs, finally retiring from Victoria Hospital as a dietary aide. Bertha is now at peace in heaven with her Lord Jesus who she loved and served with all of her heart. Her church family at Emmanuel United Pentecostal was such a huge part of her life. She missed the church deeply when she had to move to a personal care home in 2004 as the first stages of Alzheimer's were taking hold. The family is so grateful for the kind and loving care given to Mom both at Lions Manor Supportive Housing and finally, at River East Personal Care Home. We couldn't have asked for a better care team. A memorial service for Bertha will be held at a later date in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or to a charity of your choice. Mom - we love you forever.
