HAROLD GEORGE BRODIE June 8, 1935 January 22, 2014 It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Harold Brodie, at Boundary Trails Health Centre, on January 22, 2014 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Harold leaves to mourn his loving wife of 52 years, Carole Brodie, son Shane (Doris), daughters Sheri-Lee (Brenda) Phoenix and April (Stacey) Raddatz. As well as his grandsons, Scott and Brayden, granddaughters, Ashley, Lauren, Caitlin, Nicole, Alicia, Ange-Aimé, Claudette, great-grandsons, Camden, Kolbie, Austin, and brother-in-law, Ted. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Stanley, Hilda and Colin. Harold was born on June 8, 1935 in Marquette to Alexander and Phyllis Brodie. He grew up on the farm in Marquette and in Winnipeg in the St. James suburb. He loved the country life where he and Carole could grow a garden, enjoy nature and go for quiet car rides to wherever the road would take them. For most of his career, Harold worked as an administrator with the federal government living in several communities such as Portage La Prairie, Dauphin and Brandon. He finished his career in Morden as the Office Manager for Agriculture Canada. Like a true "Scotsman", Dad was a fighter and put up a valiant effort against his disease; however, it is now time for him to rest in peace. The family wishes to thank Dr. Cornelius Woelk and the staff at the Boundary Trails Health Centre for their excellent care and compassion during his stay. As per Harold's wishes, a private family service has been held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the charity of your choice in Harold's memory.
