HAROLD EDWARD MAYNER Peacefully, on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the Gimli Community Health Centre, Harold Mayner, aged 85 years of Gimli, MB. Harold was predeceased by his parents, George and Emma, children Neil and Virginia, brother Vern, great-grandson Sebastian, and niece Glenda. He leaves surviving his children, James (Dorthea), Lorraine, Cheryl (Loren) and Laurie; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his siblings Edna, Betty and Dale; his close friend Teressa (Clark), and their children. Harold was born on March 16, 1928 in Dafoe, SK. He worked the majority of his life as a miner mostly with Hudson's Bay Mining and Smelting. He also delivered coal and worked as a farm hand. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, pickling, canning, playing cards, dancing and time spent with family and friends. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Gimli Hospital for their care and compassion shown to Harold.
