ELSIE BEATRICE BUKOSKY (MITCHELL) November 30, 1947 - February 5, 2014 With her family together by her side, it is with our deepest sorrows that we announce the passing of our mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend on the afternoon of February 5, 2014. Elsie leaves her memory to be cherished by her children; Colette (Ken), Anita, Kurtis (June), Vince (Linda), and Cory (Daphne). As well as her 22 grandchildren and her 15 great-grandchildren. Also her brothers and sisters; Florence, Ida (Pierre), Ronald (Wilma), Darlene, Marlene (Raymond), Lenard (Vera), Willard, Arnold (Brigitte), Andy (Olivia), Gloria (Riley), Thelma (Warren), Lynn and Donald. She was born and raised in Poplar River First Nation by her grandmother. She then moved to Winnipeg in her teen years; where she met her late husband. Elsie took great pride in her family and shared stories about them often. She was filled with wise words, and pushed education. She spent many years teaching in Northern communities across Manitoba after receiving her Bachelor of Education in 1999 from the University of Brandon. Winnipeg Funeral service will be held February 7, 2014 at Aboriginal Funeral Home from 7:00 - 11:00 p.m. Wake and burial service will be held in Poplar River First Nation at United Church on February 8 and 10, 2014. Pallbearers are her grandchildren; Jenelle, Lori, Kathryne, Timothy, Ian and Stephan and Cross-bearer Nicholas.
