OLIVE GABE Our dearest mom and grandmother passed away in her sleep on February 5, 2014. She was born June 19, 1920 to Annie and Henry Moody. Mom loved to talk about her siblings, Harry, Dolly, George and Florence. Two sons Ron and Roy (Carol Anne) followed her marriage to Percy. She and her grandson Michael had many special times together especially at Gull Lake. Olive enjoyed gardening, bowling, crossword puzzles, baking, friends and family. She was the best mother-in-law a girl could have. Ron, Percy and all her siblings predeceased her. Mom had many favourite charities, if you wish please donate to yours. There will be no service; her body was donated to the University of Manitoba.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Olive, Mrs. Gabe, was the mother of my oldest and dearest friend, Roy. Roy & I met at a very young age. In fact Percy (Roy's Dad & Olive's husband) was a childhood friend of my Dad, growing up in Rivers, MB, I remember clearly how welcome I always felt going over to Roy's house, (Olive would usually have something for us to eat or drink) and later visiting their trailer, and then their cottage at Gull Lake. Olive (and Percy) became like second parents to me and my late wife Susan (Roy's wife, Carol Anne's best friend). I know that Olive would want to thank Roy and Carol Anne for the hours of support, love and caring they have given her in her many, happy, senior years especially since losing Percy. When I would visit her on occasion (when travel took me back to Winnipeg), she would always tell me how nice and helpful Roy and Carol Anne were being to her! - Posted by: Gary Card (Dear friend) on: Feb 09, 2014

  • Roy, Carol Anne and Michael, I'm so very sorry for your loss. I don't think I ever had the opportunity of meeting your mom but Bob spoke so highly of her (and Percy). I know she was a very special lady and you will all miss her dearly. Thinking of you and what you are going through. Sending loving thoughts. - Lynn - Posted by: Lynn Wilson (friend) on: Feb 09, 2014
