FREDERICK CHARLES WEITMAN
Born: Mar 08, 1919
Date of Passing: Jan 29, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFREDERICK CHARLES WEITMAN Frederick Charles Weitman was born March 8, 1919 and passed away peacefully on January 29, 2014. He was predeceased by his loving wife Alicia Rose. He is survived by his sister Doris Woodward, his four children Diane, Kenneth, Carol and Joan, nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Dad had a special love for all of the kids. The majority of his working life (37 years) was spent at the Canada Malting Company as a grain weighman. He was actively involved in the union as Secretary-Treasurer and President. He also enjoyed the company bowling league and won many trophies which were proudly displayed in his home. Dad retired at 58 years of age, and often joked that his goal was to collect his pension for more years than he had paid into it. Close enough, Dad! In his retirement, Dad enjoyed fishing, lawn bowling, playing cards, travelling, visiting casinos and socializing with his friends. Even after losing most of his sight, he still "insisted" on remaining active and humourous. His day wasn't complete unless he made someone laugh or smile. The family would like to sincerely thank all of the home care team who enabled Dad to remain in his apartment at Fred Douglas Place for as long as possible. As well, we would like to acknowledge the caring staff of Parkview Place. We would also like to thank the wonderful staff of Lions Personal Care Centre for the empathy and respect shown to Dad and the family. He was able to pass away in comfort and with dignity. There will be a family gathering at the lake, in the summer, to celebrate Dad's life.

I just wanted to say how much the Bemi's loved Freddie (we always called him "Freddie"). He always had a joke and could keep us laughing for many hours. I will miss him very much. Our family wishes to exend our deepest condolences and may he rest in peace. Love you Freddie. Joyce - Posted by: Joyce Seabrook (nee Bemi) (Cousin) on: Feb 09, 2014
