BRIAN GARRY KROLE On Wednesday, January 29, 2014, Brian passed away at Lions Gate Hospital in N. Vancouver, BC. He was born in Winnipeg on August 10, 1951, grew up and educated in the city's north-end. Brian became employed with the CPR and upon moving to BC, worked for BC Rail until his retirement in early 2005. Travelling was one of Brian's passions. From going off the beaten path and mixing with locals, in his early travels, to all-inclusives in his latter years. He was also an avid horse race follower and proud owner. In 2005, Brian suffered from a debilitating stroke which would have rendered the average person into a nursing home facility. However, his fiercely independent nature and his tenaciousness to rehabilitate, along with the extraordinary help of the staff of the North Shore Disability Resource Centre in N. Vancouver, he was able to return to his residence. Brian was predeceased by his father Barney and is survived and sorrowfully missed by his mother Josephine, brother Ted (Arlea), sister Leona Heather, nephews Jason Krole (Carrie), Michael Heather and niece Anne Heather. The family would like to thank Lions Gate Hospital 7W, Judi and Tim Hildred, Lenna Nakamura and Julie Comer for their care, compassion and support. As per Brian's wishes, cremation will take place. No formal service will be held.

  • Brian and I played hockey together for many years, when we were kids. He had a great sense of humor and was a great guy. I often remember those good old days! Brian worked with my father-in-law at CPR, and actually my father-in-law, asked Brian if I was a good guy! Brian gave me a 10! Thanks buddy, you will be missed! - Posted by: Gary E.
