Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. We have fond memories of when we first came to Winnipeg and you included us in your small group at church. It was wonderful to have that family connection. You opened your home and were so hospitable. Thank you so much. We pray that God will give you comfort. - Posted by: Ken and Shirley Reimche (Friends) on: Feb 23, 2014

Love and prayers go out to all of John's loved ones. It was an honour to have known John. Such a witty and intelligent, gentle man. It was always a pleasure to chat with him and we look forward to the day when we can continue our chats!! Stay strong everyone, and hold tight to Jesus. Much love from all of the Hilderman family. - Posted by: Erin Hilderman (Church family) on: Feb 22, 2014

John was a leader and role model in the church, in his professional work and in the community. The Krym family has known the Welch family for decades. He was a dear friend and will be deeply missed. We will always remember him for his good sense of humour and his warmth and kindness. Our sincere condolences to the family. You are in our thoughts and prayers. May you find comfort in God's promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." - Posted by: Drs. John and Shirley were always so kind to us. They advised us and spent time with us as family. John helped us to renovate our first home and Shirley's lovely lunches were always beautiful and delicious. Our love and prayers are with the family; may God give you comfort at this time, and joy in the knowledge that we will all be able to spend eternity together in Heaven. - Posted by: Stephanie and Harry Yamniuk (friends of family) on: Feb 21, 2014

John was always a true gentleman. Loved his accent. We enjoyed his ready and friendly smile and wit. I have known him since 1971. Amy and I enjoyed the gatherings at his home and the stories he regaled us with. He will be greatly missed, but we will long to meet him again in Heaven. - Posted by: Harley and Amy Wong (Friends of family) on: Feb 08, 2014
