DOUGLAS MIDDLETON June 8, 1932 - February 7, 2014 Our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend slipped away peacefully on the morning of February 7, 2014 after a courageous and lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. He leaves to mourn his passing, and to give thanks for a life well-lived, his wife of 61 years, Jennie, children Gary (Terry), Keith (Jan), Karen (Dave), his grandchildren, Andrew, Alex (Jen), Kelsey, Curtis, Nicholas, Kenny, Cameron and Sara. Doug had a zest for life and his family was his pride and joy. Doug was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman and enjoyed many hours playing hockey, fishing, golfing and spending time at the family cottage, and he has passed this legacy onto all of his family. The family wishes to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre Urgent Care and the staff and friends at Fred Douglas Lodge. Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held. In lieu of flowers, a donation on behalf of Doug's name can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
