EILEEN JANE STANGER 1922 - 2014 With family at her side Mom peacefully passed away to be with the Lord. Eileen was our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Eileen was predeceased by her loving husband Gordon and brothers Thomas and Robert Gillespie. Eileen is survived by her son Patrick (Val), daughters Maureen (Gordon) and Teresa (Gary), grandchildren Johnny (Jenny), Joshua, Jordan (Kaitlyn), Andy, Erin and numerous great-grandchildren. Eileen was born in Ballymena, Northern Ireland. Mom grew up in Elmwood and that is where she met Gordon, her husband of 69 years. Mom loved her children, dispensing advice whether needed or not. Mom's faith and love of the Lord Jesus was important to her and she truly never missed an opportunity to witness or say a prayer. Her prayers for us to have safe travel on the highway to the cabin will be sadly missed. Mom loved her summers at Willard Lake where she enjoyed painting pictures, baking her famous pies, spending time with family and enlisting them in precarious driftwood hunting which sometimes resulted in a good soaking. Mom remained in her home thanks to the wonderful girls at Golden Touch Caregivers. We would like thank the nursing staff at Concordia Hospital for all their kindness and care in her last days. As per Eileen's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. Her favourite scripture we share with you: The peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. - Phil. 4:7

I still remember the great wool sweater that Mrs Stanger knit and I acquired. I loved it. My condolences to Pat and the family. - Posted by: Robert Gillespie (Friend of Patrick and former neighbour) on: Feb 21, 2014

I always enjoyed visiting my Auntie Eileen whenever I was in town visiting my family. We shared many stories about the faithfulness of the Lord Jesus in our lives and the lives of our loved ones. I have many special memories of spending time at their cabin at Willard Lake as a young girl. I can only imagine what she is seeing know that she is in heaven, and I know she is happy to be with my Uncle Gordon once again, along with my Mom and Dad. See you soon Auntie Eileen.
