Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJUDIE (JUDITH LYNNE) FAURSCHOU August 20, 1947- February 12, 2014 With sorrow, we announce the death of Judie Faurschou from pancreatic cancer. Though the past few months have been difficult, Judie faced them with dignity, grace and an enduring sense of humour. Judie was born in Winnipeg and grew up on Kane Avenue and at the family cottage at Sandy Hook. She was the only girl in a family of four children. Her brothers contend this gave her special status; Judie suggested it meant she had three brothers to pick on her. After attending Strathmillan and Silver Heights Schools, Judie made the choice to complete her high school and business education at St. Mary's Academy, an institution that really helped her to thrive and realize her potential. St. Mary's has held a special place in her heart ever since. Her work life included stints at Fibreglas Canada, Robinson Stores, Public Press, and Winpak, from which she retired in 2011. She particularly enjoyed her years with Public Press and maintained enduring friendships. She was proud of her brothers Brian and Bruce, and of her nephews, niece, and great- nieces and great-nephews. For every birthday and special occasion, we all knew there would be a card from Judie in the mail (never late!) and a thoughtful gift, wrapped in her meticulous style. She loved family gatherings, Elvis, cats, mystery novels, gardening, and her mink coat. For almost 30 years, she delighted in her home on Lanark, putting energy into her garden and the continual redecorating of her house. Predeceased by father Paul in 1981, brother Ron in 1993, and mother Irene in 2003, Judie is survived by her brothers Brian (Louise) and Bruce (Teresa Moysey), nephews Allan (Ali Little), Sophia and Violet, Gavin (Joanne Wiebe), Nelson and Henry, Paul (Jamie Flewelling), and niece Trish (Caralynn Land). Her journey through life has left an imprint on the hearts and lives of those who loved her. Judie and her entire family are grateful for the compassionate and professional care offered by Home Palliative Care services and by Riverview Hospital E3 staff. If you are inclined to make a donation in Judie's memory, Riverview Health Care Centre would be an appropriate choice: 1 Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4. Judie's funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Harrow United Church, 955 Mulvey Avenue.
