JUNE MARIE JOHNSTON (nee GLOWA) June passed away on January 29, 2014 in the palliative care unit at the Nanaimo General Hospital in British Columbia. She is survived by her husband Darrell, mother Maureen Newsome, sister Angeline, niece Marnie (Minkus) and family, nephew Brad (Nechwediuk) and family, mother-in-law Lorraine Fowler, brother-in-law Jim and family. June graduated from Glenlawn Collegiate before leaving for British Columbia, first Vancouver and then Nanaimo. June loved her volunteer work with the Port Theatre and her involvement as a member of the Nanaimo Horticultural Society. June retired from the Canadian Western Bank after many years of service. June touched many hearts with her beautiful smile and generous nature. She will be in our hearts forever, now walking the dogs with her Bo-Bo (stepfather George Newsome). A celebration of her life will be held in Nanaimo, BC on February 15, 2014.
