MARY HEYKIN Mrs. Mary Heykin passed away peacefully at the Holy Family Nursing Home on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at the age of 99 years. Left to mourn her passing are six children Anne (Jim) McCallum, Katie (Len) Pokrant, Vera Shupenia, Melanie (Pat) McAllister, John Heykin, Willy (Brenda) Heykin, son-in-law Bob Maughan, 28 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her husband Peter, parents Nellie and Paul Lucka, sister Annie and her two oldest daughters Clara Maughan and Nell Hamerton. Our Mom and Little Baba will be greatly missed. She worked hard all her life and we are secure in the knowledge that now she will rest peacefully in God's care. The family wishes to extend thanks to the staff at the Holy Family Nursing Home for the special care they provided during her stay with them. A celebration of Mary's life will take place on Saturday, February 22 at 1:00 p.m., preceded by viewing at 12:00 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Rorketon, Manitoba.
