FLEURETTE BOHEMIER (née ROY) Fleurette Bohémier passed away peacefully, at the age of 90, on Monday, February 17, 2014, at Actionmarguerite in St. Boniface. Mom was born in Elie, Manitoba, on February 22, 1923, and always had a special place in her heart for the family garden along the river, and for her group of childhood, lifelong friends. She married our father, Daniel, on August 8, 1944, and then spent 60 years living in St. Pierre Jolys, Manitoba. There she raised her family, worked with dad in their restaurant business, Dan's Café, and then was a devoted employee of Le Routier Restaurant for 25 years. Thousands of hours were spent lovingly knitting and crocheting so that friends and family could benefit from her special talent. Fleurette will be greatly missed but always remembered by her three children: Yvette (Ed Herold), Rita (Etienne Rioux), René (Sharon De Cuypere). The grandchildren, Miguel and Louanne Rioux, Malia Herold, Lisa and Alexia Parks, will treasure memories of the days when Memère Bohémier was an active part of their lives. Fleurette was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Gage, Gabriel, Ruby, Elliott and Rosalie. Fleurette is survived by one brother, Rhéal Roy from Selkirk, her sister-in-law, Odile, and several Bohémier relatives: Cyprien, Blanche, Eva, Jacques and Annette, Pauline and Leonard, Bernadette and Charles. "Ma tante Flo"' leaves behind many nephews and nieces from the Roy and Bohémier families. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel (May 30, 1983), by her parents, David and Léda, brothers and sisters, Oril (McKie), Charles, Elizabeth (Betty), Lilianne (Lil), David, and Clarice. Our family sincerely thanks all who cared for, and befriended our mother throughout the years she lived at Le Manoir in St. Pierre Jolys, at La Résidence Despins, and at her last home -Actionmarguerite in St. Boniface. Funeral mass will be held at St. Pierre Roman Catholic Church on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Pierre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society, or to La Fondation Centre Médico Social De Salaberry. Au revoir, mom, tu es maintenant une citoyenne céleste. On t'aime Arrangements are entrusted to: E. J. Coutu & Co.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Our sincere sympathies to the family. We were sorry to hear about your Mother. When living at the Manoir she spent a lot of time with our Mom, Cecile Chouinard, who passed away this past August. When we'd visit our Mom, your mother's name was always mentioned. They had played cards. They'd had a meal or coffee/tea together and of course dessert. Our sister Pauline who passed away in 2009 had driven them to Winnipeg for shopping or to the Regent Club. They went to Hawaii and on other trips together. They are probably sitting together in heaven reminiscing about the good old days and touring the sights of heaven. Thank you Mme Bohemier for being such a wonderful caring friend.
