Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Dear Gerri, Dale and your huge family of siblings, We were saddened to hear from Hollie of your dear Mom's passing. Her obituary tells of her life that very closely paralleled that of our own dear Mother. I was privileged to meet your Mother and your brother at Mom's condo in Kelowna just a few months prior to Mom's passing. The day we met was the first day that my Mom began the symptoms that led to her passing. It was at the time that the possibilty your Mother would move to the Okanagan and be closer to you siblings here had presented itself. It was lovely to meet her; she was very sweet. I was happy to meet her because she was the woman who raised our Mom's special friend, Gerri. Our sadness for your family is true, but we know that Her Heavenly Home is where she was ready to be and we also understand the relief knowing that her care is no longer in your hands. When we've had such special Moms, we can know the Peace that she has entered into. The obituary was so explanatory of her life and loves. What a legacy she has left! I am so sorry we could not attend the funeral on Saturday, but Henry had just gotten out of the hospital Friday evening after surgery. I was not confident driving there myself as the road conditions were not good; and also leaving Henry alone would have been difficult. Our thoughts were definitely with you in your sad time. (Remembering the important place you filled at our Mom's Homegoing. We could not have had a better representative of her friends and acquaintances than yourself, Gerri. You did such a beautiful job portraying her. I thank you again for what you meant to our family.) I only hope you had someone so caring do the same for your Dear Mother. May God comfort you all during your loss. With love, Henry and Genevieve Zawasky G56-1045 Sutherland Avenue Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 5Y1 PS. Please come and see us if you visit the Okanagan again. Our phone # is 250-868-8028. - Posted by: Genevieve and Henry Zawasky (Friend and acquaintance of Gerri and Dale Cross; also the Robert Otke family in Dauphin) on: Feb 26, 2014
