Joan was a beautiful person who loved life and people. She was a tremendous blessing to all who knew here. Every moment spent with Joan was a life enriching experience. When in her presence you knew you were loved and cherished. Her strength, introspection and life perspective were always with purpose as she lived fully, capturing every moment. Joan was an encourager which remained true to the very final days of her life, preparing others for her passing. Joan was determined to take all that was given to her and to pay it forward. She was an outstanding gifted artist and used her art to bless others. She shared this gift with so many while teaching people that there is an artist in all of us. It was precious to hear her talk about how delighted she was to teach others and how she used her art to build self esteem and hope in each person. It was an honor and PRIVILEGE to be part of Joan's life. You could not help but learn from her and be changed by knowing her. I loved Joan dearly and thank God for bringing her into my life. I will miss her. - Posted by: Heather Campbell (Friend) on: Feb 22, 2014

Joan was a very special gift and a true treasure; an artist who was willing to share her talent, knowledge and love of art with others, but more important her love of God, life and family. Her bravery, strength and cheerfulness when faced with illness and impending death were an inspiration to all. She will be truly missed, but her art, love of life and willingness to give to others will live on. It was a honour to be invited into her life. - Posted by: Merryl-Lee (friend) on: Feb 21, 2014
