ANNE GIBSON (nee BEIKO) It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at the age of 86 years. Anne will be lovingly remembered by her children Don, Carolyn, Lorie (Mark), Cathy (Russ); precious granddaughter Ashley Piper; as well as by sisters-in-law Mary, Pam, Jean, Betty; brothers-in-law Cecil (Diane), Cedric (Ina); and numerous nieces; nephews; and dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband Bert; parents Mike and Pauline Beiko; brothers Emil, William, Steve; and sister Lucy Budyk. Mom was so fortunate to have raised her family on the same street as she grew up on (Beiko Avenue). She attended Loudon School and later worked at the Fort Osborne Barracks where she met the love of her life, Bert. They married in 1950, started their family in 1952 and continued on building their family across Canada during Bert's career with the Air Force and settling back in Charleswood afterward. Mom was the sweetest person that you could ever hope to meet. Her kindness and generosity will be remembered forever. She always had a smile, kind words, never complained and was so easy going. Mom and Dad welcomed everyone into their home and treated them like family. Their house was full of life and lots of love. She loved her family so much and was the greatest mother. We feel so fortunate to have had her as long as we did and we take great comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with Dad. The family would like to especially thank her personal caregivers: Andrea, Vida and Patti Mom loved you all so much. Also thanks to the staff at Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home for your wonderful care and compassion. On Saturday, February 22 Anne's Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice. Wojcik's Winnipeg Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204.897.4665, is in care of arrangements. wojciksfuneralchapel.com.
