JOAN PAWLSON (GRANGER) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Pawlson at Riverview Health Centre on February 19, 2104 at age 89. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Walter, children, Andrew Granger, Steve (Suzanne) Granger and Lorraine (Harry) Darling as well as seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Sister Jean James and sister-in-law Joyce Miller and many nieces and nephews. Joan is predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Annie Miller and brothers Bill and Tom Miller. Joan was born in Stirling Scotland and immigrated to Canada in 1952. She worked many years as a dietician at the Grace Hospital and University of Manitoba. After retirement Joan and Walter spent many happy years at their cottage at Bird River, and winters in sunny Mesa, Arizona. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Winnipeg MB. The family would like to thank the medical staff at the Riverview Health Centre AB1 and AB2 for their care and kindness of Joan. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society: 10-120 Donald Street Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
