ALEJANDRA (BABY) TIBAY It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear Mom, Alejandra "Baby" Tibay on February 16, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 60. She was born June 17, 1953 in Manila, Philippines to Leonida and Dionisio Miranda Sr. and lived in Philippines before moving to Winnipeg in December 1996. She was predeceased by her parents and husband Edgardo Tibay in 2002. She leaves to cherish her memory with her children, Karen, Mohra, Morena, Dionne May and Franz Joseph (Mae Reyes); grandchildren, Patricia, Marco Paulo, Edgar Ivan Lowell and Layla Leah-Mae; her brothers, Dionisio Jr. (Percy), Ariston (Ining); sisters, Josie Olea (Marcelo) and Violet Napoles (Angel) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Our mother had an unwavering faith in God and was a member of Friends of Jesus Community Group. She loved walking and volunteered at Walkabouts at Portage Place. She also loved spending time with family and closest friends. We are thankful for the time we were able to share with her. She will be greatly missed and will forever be in our hearts. We would like to thank all the doctors and nurses in St. James Palliative Care for their compassionate care they had given our mother. Lamay (Viewing) will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2014 and Friday, March 7, 2014 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 445 Lagimodiere Blvd. Funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday March 8 at St. Vital Parish, 1629 Pembina Hwy. Interment will take place after the mass at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, Himlayang Garden. A gathering with family and friends will follow at Glen Lawn Reception Centre.
