SR. AGNES ALBENA SHEEHAN, S.O.S. Sister Agnes died peacefully at the LaSalle Manor, Scarborough, ON, February 26, 2014, in the 74th year of religious life with the Sisters of Service. Born in Brandon, MB, one of the two children born to Timothy James and Leah Mary Page. Predeceased by her parents and her sister Rhea (William) Beeman, she is survived by her niece Patricia (Vincent) Grimes and children Shawn and Kerry and her nephew Terry (Dorothy) Beeman, Winnipeg, MB. Agnes, prairie born in Brandon, MB, entered the Sisters of Service on January 21, 1940. Graduating from the Maritime School of Social Work, Halifax, NS, she spent most of her religious life in the urban centres of Toronto, ON, Montreal, QC, Halifax, NS and Winnipeg, MB, serving in administration, social work and marriage tribunal ministries. She received the Benemerenti Medal in recognition of this service in 1996. In 1997, she was appointed Assistant Bookkeeper of the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Service in Toronto, ON and in 1999, Coordinator of Scarborough Retirement SOS Residence until she took up residence at the LaSalle Manor Retirement Centre in 2005. A week before she passed away, she celebrated her 100th birthday joined by the Community and many friends. Among her many gifts of service, she will be remembered especially for her gifts of music and song given so generously wherever she lived and ministered. The Sisters of Service extend their sympathy to her family and many friends. May she rest in peace. Relatives and friends may call at the LaSalle Manor, 61 Fairfax Cr., Scarborough, ON, for the visitation on Monday, March 3 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. and 9 p.m. with prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will take place on Tuesday, March 4 at 11:00 a.m. presided by Rev. Rocky Grimard, omi, in the chapel at the LaSalle Manor. Interment in the Sisters of Service plot, Mount Hope Cemetery, Toronto, ON. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Rosar -Morrison Funeral Home & Chapel, Toronto, ON.
