BERNICE GERTRUDE MCKEE (nee SULKERS) April 20, 1928 - February 12, 2014 Bernice died peacefully in Flagstaff, Arizona knowing she was deeply loved by her family and her friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband Jack of 53 years; parents, Peter and Martha Sulkers; sisters, Mary Kendall and Winnie Burbank; and brothers, Herman and Peter. She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Mitch), Sharon (Ken), Michael (Janet), Steven (Sandy), Barbara (Rich); grandchildren, Matt, Bridget, Chris, Carley, Danielle, Turney, Georgia, Pete, and Hayden; and her much loved nieces and nephews. Bernice was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Always adventurous, she moved to Caracas, Venezuela in 1952 where she worked for the Canadian Embassy and met and married Jack. After living many wonderful years in Caracas and Mexico City, Mexico, she and Jack brought their young family to the United States in 1963, first living in Phoenix, and then in Thousand Oaks, California, where she worked as an office administrator once her children were grown. Bernice and Jack retired to Prescott, Arizona in 1990. Bernice was a lifelong choir alto and devoted member of her caring and supportive church families. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and companion as well as an excellent gardener, bridge player, hostess, cook, and adventurer. She will be remembered for her kind, generous and fun-loving spirit and will be greatly missed by all those who loved her. Todo esta bien and sweet dreams, mom. A private memorial service will be held at the Prescott National Cemetery where she and Jack will be together again. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity.
