ARNOLD BARSKY July 24, 1920 - February 3, 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arnold Noel Barsky. Arnold is survived by his wife Ruby, son Brian (Laurie), granddaughter Jessica. He was predeceased by his parents Joe and Vera Barsky, his son Wayne, and his brothers Allen, Harold and Morley. Arnold grew up in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. After spending two years at the University of Manitoba, the war came along and he volunteered for the Army. He spent three years overseas in the Intelligence Corp. Arnold had an ear for languages and while overseas, learned several languages: French, Dutch and German. Arnold always said that languages were like music. He never spoke of the bad times overseas, and he only talked about the funny and entertaining things that he and his cousin Allen did. On returning to Canada he joined the family business, the Blue Chain Store in Prince Albert. Arnold was a people person and always found something good to say about everyone. He was never critical. He had a wonderful sense of humour with a repertoire of jokes he loved to share. Arnold was a man of integrity and loved his family dearly. Funeral services were held at the Etz Chayim Synagogue with Rabbi Lander officiating. Pallbearers were Laurie Barsky, Jessica Barsky, Karen Vickar, David Glassman, Howard Glassman, Marc Fayerman, and honorary pallbearer Ike Vickar. The family would like to thank family and friends for the cards and generous contributions in Arnold's name. We would also like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at the Victoria and Concordia hospitals. Thank you also to our cousins Beverly and Arnold Zatser for all their love and support.
