JOSEPH LOUIS LAVALLEE (GROS JOE) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing at home of our brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend, Joseph Lavallee (Gros Joe) after a lengthy illness at the age of 60 years. He was originally from St. Laurent, MB, born April 2, 1953. Joe was predeceased by his son Clarence, daughter Lori-Anne in 1980; by his parents Baptiste and Marie Lavallee; his sisters Doreen Garton and Frieda Lavallee; brothers Robert, Clarence and Allan Lavallee; brothers-in-law Andre Coutu and Bernie Vachon. Joe is survived and will forever be cherished by his sister Lorraine Coutu (Harry); brother Roland Lavallee (Juliette); sister Rhonda Lavallee; brothers-in-law Claude Garton and Harold Tschetter; his nieces and nephews and their families; also by the mother of his children Rebecca Watson; also his friend Holly. Joe will be remembered by all who have known him as an incredible person. His nieces loved going for a visit because he always had a smile and a big hug for them. He told them stories that they will cherish forever. He always loved to help anybody who needed help. Joe especially loved a good laugh and also the gatherings of family and friends. Joe worked construction most of his life. He was working for Shaw Cable in Winnipeg until his illness got worse. We would like to thank Terry Coutu from the bottom of our hearts for checking up on Joe almost every day. You were a great help. We will never forget it. Most sincere thanks to his nurse and paramedics. Pallbearers will be Eddie St-Cyr, Michael Tschetter, Steven St. Amand, Kevin Lavallee, Jason St. Amand, Kyle St. Amand. Prayers will be said at Cropo Funeral Chapel, Main and Inkster, on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, March 8 at St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church, St. Laurent, MB at 11:00 a.m. with viewing at 10:30 a.m. Cremation to follow. Burial in family plot at a later date.
