Ethan was born in Murree, India, while his father was stationed there with the British Air Force. At the age of two, his family moved to London, England, where he lived until immigrating to Canada in 1967. He then helped with construction of and became Manager of the first Saints Roller Rink in Winnipeg. He later toured the USA to promote sales of Irizar Motor Coaches. Finally becoming an owner operator, first with Gelco and then with Purolator Courier. He retired in the summer of 2009 and took full advantage of his days to golf. The family wishes to thank the EMS crew out of Sage Creek, the staff of St. Boniface ER, ICU and 5A cardiology. Your dedication and compassion did not go unnoticed. As per Ethan's wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service; however a golf tournament in his honour will take place this summer. In Ethan's memory, please be a blood donor. Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Dear Nora: My thoughts drifted to the good old days of working & delighting with my friend Eathen. September 08,2022 being the day that her Majesty the Queen passed. I immediately thought of Ethen & the Royal Train on which both Eathen & I were so honoured to work . As I was looking to see if I could find your or Eathens whereabouts, to my utter shock I found that my buddy Eathen has passed. I’m so sorry that I couldn’t keep in touch since many unexpected stuff happened since I last spoke to you both. Linda was taken by COVID in 2020 December. Please except my belated warm wishes & sincere condolences dear Nora. Sincerely John - Posted by: John Muliyil (Friend) on: Sep 09, 2022

  • O, to be in England Now that April 's there, And whoever wakes in England Sees, some morning, unaware, That the lowest boughs and the brushwood sheaf Round the elm-tree bole are in tiny leaf, While the chaffinch sings on the orchard bough In England—now! Bless you Ethan, My Big Brother. - Posted by: Jonathan Cracknell (The Big Brother I never had.) on: Mar 11, 2014

  • I will always remember our pleasant conversations in the early morning, before, during, and after loading our vehicles. It was at that stage in our lives that we still enjoyed our jobs, and we used to kid one another whenever we had the opportunity. Meeting Ethan James will always be a positive in my life and I am very thankful for the memories. - Posted by: Leonard G Tytgat (Ex. Employee at Purolator:) on: Mar 08, 2014
