Born: Aug 31, 1924
Date of Passing: Mar 02, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE NELLIE BRYAN (WALTERS) August 31, 1924 - March 2, 2014 "Nan" passed away peacefully with her son Michael and Maureen at her side. Rene was born in jolly old England and still shared weekly calls to her sister Edna Bridges in Birmingham, keeping tabs on the Royal Family and the antics of Coronation Street. Relocating from Winnipeg to Victoria in 1991, she immediately fell in love with the weather and the abundance of fish and chip shops. These were great reminders of home. During her time here she volunteered many hours at Royal Jubilee Hospital and Memorial Pavilion where she donated over 100 hand knit baby outfits. She continued her knitting expertise and was completing a sweater for her new great-grandson Isaac when she suffered a stroke. She was predeceased by her husband George Arthur Bryan in 1985. Survived by her sons David (Cindi), Michael (Maureen), daughter Patricia (Randy), grandchildren Danny, Christopher (Emma), Matthew (Rachel), Brittany (Matt), and great-grandson Isaac. The family would like to thank the staff of 6th floor at Victoria General Hospital for their care and compassion, also Beacon Home Care Services for their quality care. No service by request. Please come and share memories on Sunday, March 9 at the family home (1925 Townley Street) between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
