Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • Silvia was a dear friend, a wonderful person that I got to know by her coming in one day as my hair client in high school. You see she loved to get her perms, colors and just loved having her hair done. In my last year of high school I was having difficulty finding a job and she gave me the opportunity to walk her dog every day, which was so fun, I love that dog Duchess and her two cats. From then on I got to know her, her husband Bill, and her sister Elsie. Sylvia and I became really good friends and she helped me through a lot growing up. And I could never repay her the kindness for allowing me to work for her. I swear that woman wanted to spoil me, why? I really don't know. She was closer to me than my own grandparents were who unfortunately I never met growing up, and she had been a great role-model in my life. We knew each other for 12 great years, but in her last few months we kinda drifted apart, and I will regret that every day. I miss her deeply and wish I could've been there for her funeral, but didn't really find out about it until a week after her passing. I know I can never thank her or her family especially Sharon who was a constant support for everything they did. Sylvia Hamilton my dear friend, rest in peace. - Posted by: Melissa R Carter (Friend) on: Dec 23, 2014

  • We will miss Sylvia deeply, our buddy who we had many breakfasts with together, our casino jaunts, our deer watching trips to Charleswood. A wonderful lady who was very kind and endeared to our daughter Melissa and our son Adrian who met her and Bill and Elsie while walking Duchess Sylvia and Bill's dog. Thank you Sylvia for being the kind and gentle soul you have always been. God bless and rest in peace my friend. - Posted by: The Carter Family (Friends) on: Mar 19, 2014

  • My sympathy on your loss. Sylvia and my late husband, Maurice, were both dialysis patients at St. B. and usually rode the wheelchair service to and from 3 times a week. He spoke of her fondly and I know they shared their "treats" of candies, chips or whatever with each other. He was always concerned that she would be dropped off in time to play bingo at her block. They were good company for each other. - Posted by: Lucille Rybuck (friend) on: Mar 15, 2014

  • We would like Sylvia's family to know they are in our prayers. We spent many happy hours with Sylvia when we were younger. Taking everyones children to the movies and the circus were especially loved by all. Rest in peace. Dave and Fay Jones - Posted by: Fay Jones (Friend) on: Mar 14, 2014
