EDWARD EVANS July 24, 1931 - March 11, 2014 It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Edward Henry Evans, at the age of 82. He left quietly in the morning hours of March 11, 2014 at Riverview Health Centre. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Chris (Pamela), Teresa (Reuben), Claudia (Ernie), John (Loren), Marilea (Dwaine), Peter and Paul (Robert); grandchildren: Cheryl (Graham), Tracy (John), Joshua, Desiree (Ryan), Jaden, Maya, Dennis, Jordan and Kara, along with eight great-grandchildren, and sister Lyn Barlow. Edward was predeceased by his beloved wife Ollie, sons Claude and Gregory, parents Edward and Violet, and sister Joan Osadchuk. Dad was a gifted artist and pursued his formal training at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba. His many drawings, paintings and screened images are admired and cherished by those of us lucky enough to have them. Dad was also an entrepreneur owning and operating his successful screen-printing company, D & E Designs for many years. What was most special about Dad was that, with a twinkle in his eye, he had the remarkable ability to charm anyone...friend or stranger... with his unique and offbeat humour and comments. Throughout his years he enjoyed the game of golf and spending time at the beach with his wife and children. Mostly though, his greatest love was our Mom and the many, many years they had together. So great was this love, it has left a beautiful imprint on all our hearts. Rest easy Dad; be happy and enjoy the reward and the peace you have won for yourself. We are comforted knowing that your wish to be with Mom again has been fulfilled. You are loved, you are missed, and you will never be forgotten. The family wishes to thank the homecare workers and all the kind staff at Riverview Health Centre (3E) for their compassion and care. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Highway, 668-3151

Condolences & Memories (11 entries)

  • Ed, I like to believe you are receiving this. I suppose we had our artistic bouts and disagreements but what I learned from the overall D&E experience was invaluable. I knew what the loss of your kind good wife did to you and if there is any joy that can come from this, it is the knowledge that you and her are united. All the best to the family. - Posted by: Ken Helgason (graphic employee) on: Feb 11, 2016
