DAGAN TAYLOR BINDA
Born: Mar 25, 1980
Date of Passing: Mar 13, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAGAN TAYLOR BINDA We are filled with profound sadness that our sweet Dagan left us unexpectedly on March 13, 2014. His memory will be cherished by his dad Wayne, momma Roslyn, sister Kalyn (Eric) Sigurdson, brother Logan (Jennifer). Dagan loved his most recent role as uncle to Anara Sigurdson and new baby nephew Branson Binda. They always brought a smile to his face. The companionship of his dog Pizanno provided consistent loyalty, acceptance, and friendship for the last ten years. Dagan was very close to his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his Uncle Raymond (1988), Grandpa Binda (2009) and his Grandma Gould (2011). He shared a very special bond with his godfather Uncle Darrell Binda, his godmother Auntie Karla Gould, and his "fairy" godmother Auntie Sharron Gould. He was our family ambassador who kept in touch with all the relatives, near and far. We could always depend on Dagan for an update of their lives. Dagan was the first of his siblings to be born on March 25, 1980. Dagan loved growing up in Bird's Hill, being surrounded by many members of his extended family and especially all the good memories made with friends in the gravel pits. He spent time building forts, climbing trees, ripping around on his BMX, exploring the pits and playing baseball and hockey. His interests were music, movies, fishing, science fiction, outer space and creating his own culinary delights. He found solace in being outside and the simple things in nature. Dagan started working at a young age and over the years he helped doing neighbourhood odd jobs and in the local market gardens. He took pride in his position as a carpenter's helper - building houses, his maintenance work at the East St. Paul outdoor rinks and as an operator of small machinery. He volunteered his time at Winnipeg Harvest. His favourite part of all his jobs was the people that he met along the way. Our heartfelt gratitude to all the "angels" on earth who supported, encouraged, and loved our Dagan throughout his short life. Dagan was extremely patient, thoughtful and personable. Although he faced many health challenges, he began each day with a positive attitude. Dagan was always up for goofing around and creating his own little rhyming ditties to bring out the laughter in the people around him. He had an active imagination, huge heart and generous spirit. "We will always remember the way you looked, the way you walked and smiled, all the things you did for us, will be with us all the while. You always did your best, your heart was true and tender, you lived your life for those you loved, and those you loved will remember." A celebration of Dagan's life will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. The reception will be followed by a private family interment at Sunnyside Cemetery in Springfield MB. In lieu of flowers, the family greatly appreciates donations made in Dagan's memory to Sara Riel Foundation Inc., 66 Moore Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2M 2C4 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. I love you forever. I like you for always As long as I'm living. My baby you'll be. GOD BLESS YOU "DIGGER" UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN

DAGAN TAYLOR BINDA Suddenly but peacefully our beloved Dagan left us on March 13, 2014. He was born on March 25, 1980 and lived most of his life in Bird's Hill. He attended Bird's Hill Elementary School, Robert Andrews Junior High, and graduated from Miles MacDonnell High School. He enjoyed spending time outdoors with his dog Pizanno, had a passion for cooking and he was always willing to try something new especially spicy foods, or sushi. He loved family gatherings and being an uncle was one of his greatest joys. Longer obituary will follow.

Another chapter done, I have lost you, how do I live without the ones I love, pain in my heart, beaver forget the times we shared, as angels fly by to carry you away, to the stars and heavens above, you will not be forgotten, and always be loved. I nicked named dagan D-dog. I reamber going to superstore with dagan and his mom picking up sea food to make for a tasty snack. Oh how we loved it. I never forget him and his smile/laugh. He was a good man and truly a great friend. Dagan say hello to Marijka for me. As we miss her too. My love goes out to you and your family. I am deeply sorry about this sad and unfortante news. Mr. and Mrs. Binda, Kalyn, Logan and family, my most sincere condolences. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Dagan's passing. I have many fond memories of growing up across the street from Dagan and the family on Burton Avenue in Bird's Hill, riding bikes together, climbing and skipping stones in "the pits", birthday parties, crafting little things, making up games of all kinds, hide and go seek, snow ball fights, getting scrapes and bruises... Dagan was a part of many fun and special times for me as a child, and although we lost touch as teenagers, I'm still so very sorry to hear that he's gone. Dagan and I first met at Birds Hill School! I remember causing havoc with the boys on our bikes on our way to school like a "gang" and hitting up the sports den on our rides home. Had the pleasure of knowing him and his family as my dad and grandparents also knew the Binda family very well. I remember the sleepovers, the pits, the infamous "park" when we were young like it was yesterday. Dagan was always willing to be the first to take that awkward homade jump on his bike first. Jeez! Dagan and I also worked together at the outdoor rinks in East St. Paul! We didn't always have the same approach to ice making but it was always funny hearing his angle on the art of ice making. (Listening to the train fly by and hearing the ice crack was priceless) we didn't stay too close to each other the past 5 years and I'm terribly sorry Dagan. We will meet again and I wish for you to R.I.P - love Blayne - Posted by: Blayne Schabler (Friend) on: Mar 18, 2014

I've only met Dagan a handful of times. Always with Darren. Now talk about wonderful parenting skills (Roslyn and Wayne). Always a hi or shake of a hand or hug such a pleasant fun person to be around. He was always welcome anytime any day into our home. As I was saying about parenting skills.... Dagan would not have been the happy pleasant person with such high people person skills towards others he presented. Superb job Ros and Wayne. I know this day will be filled with all sorts of emotions and that's normal. On my behalf I would like to send warm hearted condolences not just to Dagan but to his entire family and all friends. From me (Tracey , Darren De Visser , kids Joel, Kyle and Jessica Schillaci and Justin De Visser) our prayers be with all of you 👼 - Posted by: Tracey De Visser (Cousin in law (Darren's wife)) on: Mar 16, 2014

I have not seen Dagan for sometime but when I lived next door and he was out and about in the yard he would always say hello and stop to chat. He was very thoughtful and kind and always offered to help me if he could. Didn't see him much around "leaf" season though. I think he knew to stay away!! LOL. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. My deepest condolences to the entire family. - Posted by: Dale Desjardine (neighbour) on: Mar 16, 2014

First to Dagans Family I'm so Sorry. Star Wars at my place throwing popcorn around and destroying the basement. Egg fights in the Binda house and cleaning it up with the central Vac. Yeah me and Dagan had a thing with food fights! I'll never forget the Days of building forts with my dads 3/4 plywood that he was going to build his cabin with. Priceless moment when he seen the wood was half gone. I'll never forget your laugh it was priceless. I used to try to make you laugh as much as I could just to hear it. Riding our Bikes all over Birds Hill, cliff jumping, building igloos during the winter all things I'll never forget for the rest of my life. Your the only guy that could climb a tree and jump like Tarzan from tree top to tree top all in an attempt to get firewood. I could go on forever with story's Till we meet again my friend! - Posted by: Joe Zahariuk (Friend) on: Mar 16, 2014

Dagan and I were close friends growing up! I have many fond memories of playing hide and go seek, building snow forts, playing hockey and although I'm not proud of it, teaching his little brother some unkind words! Somewhere I still have a picture that we cut in half when we were in elementary school, he kept my half and I kept his:) Although we lost touch many years ago, the memories of our childhood are still crystal clear, almost as if it were yesterday! My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family during this very difficult time! Kurt - Posted by: Kurtis Hause (Childhood friend) on: Mar 16, 2014

Dagan... You were my first "Boyfriend" in Elementary... Roslyn was one of my favorite teachers... I can remember so many childhood memories with Dagan in Bird's Hill that feel like just yesterday. I can not imagine the whole you have left in your families hearts... The last time I saw you and chatted was not to long ago, your smile had not changed and you seemed so happy to visit! I pray your family finds peace knowing in heaven you are watching over and protecting them until you all meet again! - Posted by: Jodi (Wazny) Arsenault (Old Friend) on: Mar 16, 2014

Dagan your passing comes as a shock. As we had just talked the day prior your passing. We were planing getting together as it has been quite some time we've seen each other. I will always remember the great times we had growing up; school, hockey, camping, the Birds Hill pit adventures, your cooking master pieces and countless times we spent together. Your smile and laughter will greatly be missed. Thoughts and Prayers with your family. Miss ya. Your old pal Sean. - Posted by: Sean Berndsen (Friend) on: Mar 16, 2014

What crushing news. Dagan was such a great addition to my classroom. I was fortunate to teach the three Bindas at Bird's Hill School as well as being on staff with Ros for so many years. Our sincere thoughts and prayers go out to the family. We won't be able to attend the funeral as we are in the desert. We'll get in touch when we get home. Wayne, Roz, Kaylynn, Logan...my experience with Dagan is that we each may not have always known what to do, but always felt like we knew who we could trust. That was him in I, and I in him. This kid and I always ended up meeting in the most unlikely places. We always sat down and talked for hours. He would tell stories of his nanny and grandpa. His mom and dad. Brother and sis. He truly loved his family. Always happy when we could get together. You will be missed cuz! My condolences to Wayne,Roz, and my aunt Shirley, the kids, and all my cousins. I've grown quite close to Dagan over the last 2 years, he was my best friend, and I'll miss his little dances and sense of humour and wit. My heart goes out to the family and I will surely miss Dagan, he helped me in my life and I helped him in his. He will always be in my heart and thoughts, and will surely be missed. Dagan If tears could build a stairway and memories were a lane, I would walk right up to heaven and bring you back again. No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye, You were gone before we knew it, and only god knows why, My Heart still aches in sadness, and secret tears still flow, What it meant to lose you, no one will ever know. But now we know you want us, to mourn for you no more, to remember all the happy times, life still has much in store. Since you will never be forgotten, I pledge to you today, a hallowed place up in my heart is where you'll always stay. - Posted by: Collin (Family Friend) on: Mar 15, 2014
