NETTIE KULIK (nee GOWRYLUK) October 25, 1918 - March 14, 2014 Peacefully, with her family by her side, Nettie passed away at the age of 95. Nettie was predeceased by her husband Peter in 2003, her parents Thomas and Annie, and brother Bill. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Judy and son-in-law Pat; sisters Mary (Glenn), Jennie, Olga, and brother Harry (Gwen); as well as many nieces and nephews. Nettie worked for the Royal Trust Company in Winnipeg for 25 years. Mom and Dad moved to Maple Ridge, BC in 1985 and had a great life and many lasting friendships. In 2007 Nettie moved to Missionwood Retirement Resorts in Kelowna, BC, where she had an incredible life. The staff at Missionwood became her extended family. We thank everyone at Missionwood for making her life so wonderful. Our heartfelt thanks to her physician, Dr. Gayle Klammer, for her kindness and care that she had always shown. Also, thank you to the staff at Kelowna General Hospital (4B) and the staff in the Ethel Glen resident area at Cottonwoods Care Facility. Cremation has taken place and a family service will be held in Ashfield, MB at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Kelowna General Hospital, 2268 Pandosy Street, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 1T2 or a charity of your choice, in memory of Nettie, would be appreciated. MISS ME BUT LET ME GO When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room - why cry for a soul set free. Miss me a little, but not too long and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love we shared - Miss me, but let me go. For this journey we must all take and each must go alone, it is part of the Master's plan, a stop on the road to home. Miss me, but let me go. Nettie is now together with her beloved Choo-Chee and Grand Dog Tiger. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.springfieldfuneralhome.com 250-860-7077

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Hi Judy; I'm not sure if you remember us but my parents, Walter and Verna Strutinsky, were very good friends with your parents many years ago. Both my parents died over thirty years ago. I do remember, as a young boy, many visits to your parents' house on Burrows Avenue and listening to you playing the piano, which you did so well. Your parents were wonderful people and I am sorry for your loss. Adrian Strutinsky Sent from my iPhone - Posted by: Adrian Strutinsky (Friend of the family) on: Mar 24, 2014

  • I remember Nettie well from Royal Trust. She was so kind to me me as I went through a difficult time then. I remember her regular lunch if cottage cheese and fruit cocktail! Lol. I also remember hearing of her routine - Peter would drive her home and her job would be to get out of the car and open the garage door. - Posted by: Carlyne Murphy (Former colleague) on: Mar 23, 2014
