EDWARD (TEDDY) MARGULIUS With great sorrow, the Margulius and Reale families announce the passing on March 8, 2014, of Edward (Teddy) Margulius. Teddy left us all too soon at the age of 62. He leaves behind his wife, Amanda Reale, his children, Chad and Ali, his mother, Mickey Margulius, sister, Eileen Margulius Curtis, brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Corinne Margulius, niece, Jennifer Curtis-Lane and nephews, Jeff Curtis and Jordan Margulius. Also mourning the loss of Teddy are Amanda's three beautiful children, Emile (Jessica), Aleisha (Marlow), Gabe and darling granddaughter, Lucia. Teddy also leaves Ellen Gales and the entire Gales family who together with us all, mourn his loss. Teddy had genuine North End Winnipeg roots. He grew up on McAdam Avenue, attended Talmud Torah and St. John's High School and began his love of golf at West Kildonan Golf Course. He later became a member of Bel Acres and then Glendale Golf and Country Club in Winnipeg. Along with his family, he spent many happy summers at Winnipeg Beach. Teddy became a junior high school teacher following his graduation from the University of Manitoba and taught at Hastings Junior High until 1977. In 1979, Teddy was looking for a career change and moved to Vancouver where together with his close friend, Bobby Thompson, he owned and operated Thompson/Margulius Clothing Agency. He later branched out as an independent in the clothing industry. Teddy was well respected within the apparel industry and possessed the best qualities a man could have in business and in his everyday life. For over 30 years, Teddy was a well respected and much loved member of Richmond Golf and Country Club. "The Gool," as he was affectionately known, could always be seen practicing new swing thoughts in the quest of gaining extra yardage off the tee. Teddy was a most devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He took pride in his wife, Amanda and his children, Chad and Ali, and considered them his greatest gifts. Building new relationships and friendships was his hallmark. He was drawn to people of all ages, and, could he tell a story. Everyone loved being around Teddy. He was the most genuine person you could meet and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Funeral services were held on March 11, 2014 at Beth Israel Cemetery in Vancouver, where over 500 family and friends escorted him on his final journey. Pallbearers were his son, Chad, brother, Alan Margulius, nephew, Jordan Margulius, stepson, Gabe Babbin-Young, and friends, Marty Thompson and Bobby Thompson. Honorary pallbearers were his nephew, Jeff Curtis, cousin, Alan Margulius and friends, David Rubin and David Goldman. The family wishes to thank all those who cared for Teddy during his fight, including his doctors and the staff of the Palliative Care Ward at Vancouver General Hospital. The greatest testament to Teddy was the outpouring of support and love from family and friends from across the globe during his illness. We value your support and are forever grateful. Teddy, you will be deeply missed and will remain in our hearts forever. We love you. Donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation at bccancerfoundation.com or to the charity of your choice.

  • Special, special friend from the age of 9 and will forever have a warm place in my heart. Ted had a photographic memory when it came to humorous experiences and literally thousands of jokes. Ronny S and Gool would actually compete in joke telling acumen. We shared 1000's of hours of golf, basketball, floor hockey, football and 20 years of business dealings with honor. The world was a far better place for Teddy having been here. A special Thank You to Al for letting Marla & I visit him. - Posted by: Avie Kaplan (Friend) on: Mar 24, 2014

  • Teddy and I became friends at the age of 15 and we were inseparable until he moved to Vancouver when he was 28. I can't think of a time in my life when we weren't together during those years, whether it was on the golf course, traveling Europe together, spending time in Florida or sharing an apartment. Teddy was the greatest guy who had the greatest stories, which many times ended with "and that's no Gool exaggeration!" Everyone who knew Teddy loved him. I will deeply miss him and even though we were thousands of miles apart, I've always considered him my closest friend. I love you man! - Posted by: Ron Solomon (Friend) on: Mar 23, 2014
