CHERYL CHRISTINE MILNE (nee PETERSON) May 15, 1947 - March 15, 2014 With deep sadness we announce the passing of a wonderful, talented, petite lady. Cheryl lost her battle with lung and liver cancer. She was predeceased by her parents and two sisters. Cheryl will be lovingly missed and forever remembered by partner Victor Husak, brother Rob (Susa) Peterson, sister Ruth (Jim) Pepperdine, son Christopher and many surviving relatives and friends. In accordance with her instructions we will not publish a biography or celebrate her many achievements in ballet, race car driving, social services and mentoring abused children. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Palliative Care, St. Boniface Hospital and to the many gracious folks from the Winnipeg Group.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I met Cheryl when I was a 12 yr old (a troubled child) and truly blessed getting Cheryl as my worker, if not for her caring, advice and taking care of my needs, I would certainly not be where I am today. Happily married for 21 yrs and 3 children.. I wish I could have gotten the chance to thank her for all her help, I wrote a poem after she placed me in my foster home and gave it to her.. Thank you so much Cheryl I'm so sorry for her family's loss, what a wonderful woman with a gift of helping and loving, she had to have been such an amazing mother as she was my worker, and often during that time, not only wished she were my mother but thanked God for placing her in my life! Again I am so very very sorry for your loss, God Bless - Posted by: Christina Sinclair (Friend) on: Sep 18, 2014

  • We were saddened to arrive back home after being away the past month, to hear of Cheryl's passing. Cheryl was always a very loving person and I have many fond childhood memories of us and our other cousins at both the farm in Melfort and in North Battleford, Sask. Cheryl was far too young to leave this life so soon. Our deepest sympathy to you Vic and to all the family. Sincerely, Marilyn and Ivan Piniuta - Posted by: Marilyn Piniuta ( nee Peterson) (cousin) on: Mar 30, 2014

  • We will miss Cheryl dearly. She was kind and considerate and a wonderful partner to our dad, Victor. She always had a smile on her face and a razor-sharp wit. - Posted by: Pam Husak and Aaron Scherle (Stepdaughter and Stepson) on: Mar 24, 2014
