Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT (ROB) JAMES HENDERSON September 1, 1951 - February 16, 2014 Rob, of Lebret, SK, was predeceased by his parents Jim and Jean Henderson. He is survived by two sons: Jesse of Calgary, AB and Ryan of Winnipeg, MB; granddaughter Antha of Calgary, AB; brother Bruce (Lavina) of Fort Qu'Appelle, SK, and nephew Kyle (Marilynne, great-nephew Gaige) of Clairmont, AB. Rob was born in Dauphin, MB and attended school in Oxbow, SK. At age 17 he joined the Royal Canadian Navy and moved east. He married Joanne Coulthard on November 28, 1970. He began a long and rewarding career with Canada Customs, living in Melita, MB, Coutts, AB, Calgary AB, Regina, SK, and Winnipeg, MB. After retiring from Canada Customs he was employed by Contecna doing work for the United Nations, which allowed him to travel extensively around the world. He moved to Mission Lake, SK after his second retirement, and his passion for traveling continued. Rob never spent a winter at Mission Lake saying it was "too cold" and "I don't like snow." His winters were spent in Playa del Carmen, Mexico where he had many friends. Rob was proud of his sons, and especially proud of his granddaughter, Antha. He possessed a great sense of humour, was quick-witted and loved to laugh - all good qualities in life. Rob passed away suddenly, but peacefully, in Playa del Carmen, Mexico surrounded by many close friends from all over the world. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held at Mission Lake, Lebret, SK this summer.
