HAROLD DAVIS Peacefully, with family at his side Harold passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Pinecrest Home for the aged in Kenora, Ontario at the age of 90. Harold will be lovingly missed by his children Jim (Gail), Deborah, Ron (Janet) and grandchildren Colin (Vicki), Sean (Kim), Angela, Tyson (Zoe), Alexis (Joel) and grandchildren Juliana, Alison, Benjamin and Samuel. Harold was predeceased by his wife Lorna on August 28, 2012. Harold and Lorna were married in 1943 and began their life together in Victoria, BC where Harold served during the Second World War. After the war they returned to Winnipeg where Harold started a long career with the CPR that took the family to Souris, Kenora and back to Winnipeg. Harold and Lorna retired to LongBow Lake in 1981. Dad had many interests including golf, carpentry, fishing, bridge, pool and crib. As an avid golfer he won many tournaments in the Souris area. Did you know Dad beat Minnesota fats at pool at the Royal Alex hotel in Winnipeg? Directing and helping build the home at LongBow Lake, Mom and Dad had their dream home where they had many family and friends come visit. Fishing was a family thing and we spent many a day on the lake fishing with a boneless shore lunch. Yes Dad knew how to fillet a fish perfectly. Dad's carpentry skills also had him building furniture, carving birds and making Adirondack chairs for family, friends and even the Kenora golf course. Some are even located in the states to this day. Dad loved life and lived it to the fullest. Special thanks to the staff at the Pinecrest home and a special thanks to Michelle. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at a later date in June.
