PATRICIA (PAT) JEPPESEN (nee PUHACH) It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Mom, Pat Jeppesen on March 23, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 69. Mom is survived by her children Cori (Roy) McLeod, Jayson (Joyce) Jeppesen, Holly Jacques, Shawna (Mark) Larter, her parents Boris and Olga Puhach, her sister Gail (John) Leah, her brother David (Judy) Puhach, seven grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many lifelong friends. Mom was born and raised in Glenhope, Manitoba near the town of McCreary. After moving to Winnipeg, Mom went on to have four children and did a spectacular job of raising them on her own. Mom loved each of her children equally and unconditionally, and was always supportive and caring. This was apparent to anyone who knew her and was undoubtedly a characteristic she got from her parents, as she and her siblings were raised the exact same way. Family was always first, and it showed! She was always more concerned about the well being of others than she was for herself. Mom had a long career as a payroll clerk for multiple personal care homes. She was a dedicated and loyal employee, and she took great pride in the work she did before retiring at 65 years old. She was extremely talented and enjoyed crafting, rarely keeping anything she made for herself and has left us all with many treasures to remember her by. Mom also loved spending time with her grandchildren, and cherished those special trips she made to Calgary! A few short years after mom retired, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She battled the disease with all her might and always displayed a positive attitude. Mom was always grateful to everyone who played a role in her care and treatment. Sadly, her cancer spread, but she spent the last six months living her life to the fullest, never giving up hope or feeling defeated. She was a hero right until the time she passed. We will all love you and miss you forever Mom! Many thanks to Dr. Lipschitz and his team at Health Sciences Centre who undoubtedly extended Mom's life with surgery and gave us extra precious time with her. Special thanks to Dr. Gordon and Dr. Ogaranko and the entire team of nurses and staff at the Victoria Hospital Oncology Department who provided incredible care and support, making her time during treatment pleasant and positive. And finally, to all of our family and friends, without your support, we would not get through this time as we are lost without our Mother. Mark, Gail, John, Dave, and Judy - there are no words to express our gratitude for what you have done for Mom. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

  • I am deeply saddened and heartbroken to read of Pat's death. Have thought of her many times over the past few years and did not even know she was ill. Makes one realize more than ever how important it is to keep in touch with those people who are or have been an important part of your life. Her family was most important to her and she was so proud of all of you. • Pat was a gentle, kind woman who always had a smile and a warm hug. Her sense of warmth drew people and animals towards her, her crafting skills were incredible, but the quality that sticks out most about her...was her admirable sense of optimism. <3 - Posted by: Christine Larter () on: Mar 26, 2014

  • My deepest heartfelt condolences to Cori, Holly, Jayson, Shawna and the rest of Pat's family. Your Mom will always be in my memories as one of my "neighbourhood Moms" and my Mom's dear friend and Bingo partner, as well as the one who gave us our first dog Casey. She will forever be fondly remembered. I am so sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Lisa Mittelstadt (my Moms dear friend and our neighbour growing up) on: Mar 26, 2014
