Born: Jul 25, 1960
Date of Passing: Mar 11, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARK MORLEY MCKENZIE On the morning of March 11, 2014, Mark McKenzie, 53, of Pickering, ON passed away after a tragic accident while on vacation in Hawaii with his family. Mark was born in Thompson, MB to Jean and Morley McKenzie, July 25, 1960. After spending his youth in faraway lands such as Peru and the Dominican Republic, Mark returned to Winnipeg to complete his education attending Bruce Junior High, Sturgeon Creek Regional Secondary School and graduating from the University of Manitoba as a Professional Engineer. Mark moved to Toronto to begin his career with Motorola where he later met and married his wife Donna (May 29, 1999). Mark retired from Motorola in 2007 and became a stay-at-home dad taking care of his daughters, Holly and Leah. Mark loved his family, friends and life and always had a smile on his face. He continuously challenged himself to learn new things and enjoyed many interests and hobbies such as photography, drawing, piano, reading, movies, flying, driving his Corolla, and fixing watches, to name a few. Mark travelled to many places around the world including India, Thailand, Peru, Nepal, England, Scotland, US and Canada. Mark always had time for others to help out, talk, listen, answer questions or provide guidance if needed. He had a quick wit that brought joy into people's lives, and will be remembered for his sense of humour. There will be a celebration of Mark's life held at McEachnies Funeral Home in Ajax, ON. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate anyone who would like to make donations to consider World Vision Canada or The Denise House Women's Shelter (Oshawa). Mark was an avid supporter of these and many charitable organizations and would have liked to know this tragedy has provided some good in the world for the benefit of others. Mark is survived by his wife Donna, children Holly and Leah, mother Jean McKenzie, brother Craig, sister-in-law Loralie, nieces and nephews Keenan, Sahra, Crista, Alexandra, Kate and Geoff, and several cousins. He also leaves behind numerous lifelong friends - Darin and Jeanette, Randy and Lori, Cathy, Pam, Dena and many, many others around the world. His memory will be cherished and he will be deeply missed by all.
