MYER MITCHELL Peacefully on February 27, 2014 Myer Mitchell passed away at the age of 95 after a short illness. Myer was predeceased by his loving wife Myrna (nee Schultz) and his beloved daughter Sharon Pollack. Myer was a father to Faith Cristall and sons-in-law Bruce Cristall and Rocky Pollack. He will greatly missed by his grandchildren Jason, Jennifer (Aiden, Quinn and Zach), Hart, (Nancy, Mitch, Shane and Talia) and Lisa (Andy, Noah and Seth). Myer was the youngest and last remaining brother in a family of five boys. He spent his early years working in his parent's store. His entrepreneurial spirit brought him to Winnipeg where he started in the garment industry. He met Myrna, the love of his life, and they were inseparable for their 69 year marriage raising their daughters, working and travelling together. Myer was a fun loving grandfather who enjoyed and engaged with his grandchildren. He introduced them to swimming, tennis and card games. Life lessons were always discussed over a breakfast in Palm Springs or on a car ride to Glendale Country Club on his way to a social event. Grandpa never wanted to miss a good time and spent all his energy even up until his last days attending events at the Sharon Home. A good meal, a good story and a good laugh were his simple pleasures and what we will miss most about him. A special thank you to the Simkin Centre; and Marie Anne Cochon of Compassionate Heart and her staff for all their caregiving over the last few years. We could not have cared for Myer without you and appreciate your dedication and kindness. Myer was carried to rest by grandson Hart Pollack, Andy Furman, Larry Saifer, Richard Leipsic, Victor and Myron Schultz. In lieu of flowers or donations please enjoy a good meal with family or friends and appreciate the simple pleasures of life.
