INGRID OVIDIA ALARIE (nee HEDREN) Ingrid Ovidia Alarie, 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 31, 2014 at Fairview Transitional Health Center in Grants Pass, Oregon. Visitation was held at Chapel of the Valley LB Hall Funeral Home in Grants Pass, on Friday, April 4, 2014. Interment service will be held at a later date. Ingrid was born June 8, 1919 in Winnipeg. On December 9, 1939 she married Camille Alarie in Elie. In 1959 Camille's job search moved them and their family to Grants Pass. Ingrid was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church and the Scandinavian Club. Her interests included ceramics, knitting, sewing, decoupage and camping. She enjoyed traveling to Sweden and Canada, revisiting Lillesve, sending birthday cards to family back home, bragging about her grandchildren, dancing and in latter years "keeping an eye on" Camille dancing, telling Camille how to drive and dreaming of a return to Lillesve. She also enjoyed shocking folk often telling jokes and reading her Ollie and Lena books. Ingrid is survived by her husband, Camille and four sons (David, Jim, Tom and Gary) all of Grants Pass, seven grandchildren and six great- grandchildren as well as her Manitoba siblings: Helen, Bertha, Joan, Wallace, and Andy. Her sister Lilly predeceased her. Condolences can be sent via funeral home website: chapelvalley.tributes.com

  • I haven't seen Aunt Ingrid for many years but can still recall her voice and quirky sense of humour. Deep sympathy and condolences to her family. - Posted by: Denise Bosko (Fawcett) (niece) on: Apr 07, 2014
