Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELISABETH LUKAS August 20, 1929 - March 30, 2014 We sadly announce the passing of Elisabeth Lukas (nee Schoenhofer) after a long battle with cancer. Left to celebrate her memory are her husband of 61 years, Nikolaus, children Doris Jordan, Anton, Kathleen and Robert Lukas and her beloved grandchildren Paul and Nicole Jordan, Erin and Sean Pasemko, Matthew and Lindsay Weiser and Lynea and Braeden Lukas. She was predeceased by her daughter Dr. Susan Lukas last August and is survived by her sister Hedy Neufeld and many other family members. Elisabeth was born in Germany, enduring the hardships of the Second World War. These adversities led her in search of a better life and in 1951 she came to Canada. She and Nick were married on January 17, 1953 and together built a family business they loved, running Lukas Greenhouses for almost 60 years. Their hard work enabled them to provide a good education for their children and they shared in their success by helping their children whenever they needed support. Elisabeth was also known for her big family dinners and felt that you could never have too much good food, regardless of the occasion. Cremation has taken place with a private service planned for family and friends. Chapel Lawn in charge of arrangements. You are now free of pain. Rest in Peace Elisabeth.
