ESTHER SYLVIA JOAN ADSHEAD (MCCARVILL)
Date of Passing: Mar 30, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryESTHER SYLVIA JOAN ADSHEAD (nee MCCARVILL) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom and Grandma on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 79 years. Joan leaves to celebrate her life, her daughters Tracey (Denis) and Sheri (Calvin); and her greatest joys in life, her grandchildren; Kyle, Miranda, Brendan, Cayden, Callee and Jaxxy. She was predeceased by her husband, Cyril in 2004; brother Samuel; and her parents. Mom was a fun-loving, positive person, caring personality touched the hearts of many. Her labour of love (as she would call it) was sewing and her garden. In compliance with Joan's wishes, no Funeral Service will be held. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Stephen Smith, who made Mom's stay at the Victoria Hospital pleasurable and safe in a very unsure time. A very special thanks to all of the Nurses on the 4th floor and to the numerous health care aides who cared for her. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba in Joan's memory. Wojcik's Winnipeg Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 2157 Portage Ave., 204-897-4665, is in care of arrangements. wojciksfuneralchapel.com A page in our book of memories is gently turned today I lost my best, my dearest friend, Dear Mom when I lost you. Gentle, unselfish, a friend ever true; my best possession, Mom, was you. While you dear Mom, rest and sleep, your loving memory we'll always keep. I keep in my heart the love of the past, for there it was planted forever to last. Through absent you are very near, still loved, still missed, and very near.

God bless Mrs Adshead and her Sunday dinners! She always welcomed me to her table and took great joy watching me eat. She was a kind, and generous woman. Tracey and Sheri, I am so sorry for your loss, the love of your mother can never be replaced but hope that you will find strength within the love of your own families and warm embrace of your friends. My condolences to you all. Mrs Adshead was a wonderful lady and always made me feel welcome in her home which I spent lots of time at with Tracey & Sheri growing up. She made the best Peanut butter cookies and home made macaroni and cheese ever. Embrace the time and memories you shared together. Your Mother lives on within you. - Posted by: Lisa Rajotte (Friend) on: Apr 05, 2014
