Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY WRIGHT It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Mary Ritchie Wright (nee Simpson) on March 27, 2014 at Heritage Lodge in Winnipeg. May touched many lives. A devoted sister to Georgiana, treasured aunt to Ken, Bob and Pat, and great-aunt to their children LeeAnn, Stacey, Craig and Scott Dowse, Brad and Brandi Dowse, and Jess and Kristen McMahon. She also leaves to mourn her passing stepchildren Dianne Lough and Gerard Wright and families and lifetime friend Annie Speirs. Mary was born July 6, 1921 to parents Samuel Simpson and Mary Barr Simpson, a twin sister to Georgiana Gibson Simpson. Happy childhood years were spent on Madison Street in St. James. After the passing of her father Samuel in 1948, Mary devoted herself to her mother, her work at Customs and Immigration and volunteering with the CNIB. A constant companion of her sister Georgiana, she became a second mother to her nephews and niece, Ken, Bob and Pat Dowse. Married in 1975 to George Wright, a long-time family friend, May started a new phase in her life. She retired shortly after her marriage and settled into a long and happy life on Rita Street with George. The two travelled extensively, visiting family and friends across the country until her beloved Georges' passing in 1999. May's final years were spent at Heritage Lodge. Her twinkling blue eyes, funny faces and giggles will be missed by both residents and staff. May was cared for with love and respect by a staff she had come to know as a family. Thank you. May's many boxes of memories are brimming with photos, travel diaries, postcards and letters from loved ones around the world. Her treasured keepsakes reflect a life lived to the fullest, filled with family, friends, travel and celebration. Aunty you lived a long, sweet, wonderful life. All those who were blessed to share it with you would like to say thank you, we love you, God Bless you, and Rest in Peace. www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715
