ORLANDO BAQUIRAN Orlando "Orly" Baquiran of Winnipeg, Manitoba, bravely fought Bileduct Cancer until he had peacefully surrendered to God's embrace at the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family on April 3, 2014, 4:45 p.m. Born in Tanza, Cavite, Philippines, Orly worked hard in Saudi Arabia for 18 years. On December 30, 2005, petitioned by his sister, Noralyn and her husband, David Pua; Orly was able to move and start a new life with his family in Canada. He started working for Motor Coach Industries, then along with his wife; later became temporary parents of 69 foster children. Orly lived a very fruitful life, as his journey here on earth was able to touch the lives of many. He has a great sense of humour and loved to make people laugh. He will surely be missed by his wife, Lucila, his daughters, Taira, Tania and Alex. Mother, Erlinda of the Philippines, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and aunties and uncles Consuelo (Carlos) Malicsi, Nolita (Efren) Naron and extended family. Orly was indeed a very loving husband, father, uncle and a friend to all. Special thanks to all the staff, doctors and nurses of Winnipeg Regional Health Authority in the Palliative Care Department, also to Dr. Abdulatib Haresha of Red River Clinic. A celebration of Orlando's life and the memories of his journey with loved ones will be held on Thursday, April 10 and Friday, April 11, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel: 1442 Main St. Winnipeg, MB. Burial service will be on Saturday, April 12, 2014, 12:00 noon at St. Peter's Catholic Church: 748 Keewatin St. Winnipeg, MB. Followed by the Interment at Glen Eden Cemetery: Main St., West, St. Paul, MB.
