CATHERINE HOLIAN (nee HUGHES) October 9, 1922 - April 3, 2014 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Catherine. Mom fought a courageous battle and passed away peacefully at the Seven Oaks Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, son-in-law, mother, father, three brothers, three sisters, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Ken; daughters, Sheila, Betty (Gary), Jean (Stan); grandchildren, David, Kelly and Maranda; great-grandchildren, Michael, Kiana, Cash and Jonathan; sisters, Elizabeth and Margaret; sister-in-law Irene, and many nieces and nephews. Mom lived her life to the fullest. Her greatest pleasure was being with family and friends. She also loved to travel and enjoyed her trips to Scotland, Las Vegas and the West Coast. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses on the 4th floor of the Seven Oaks Hospital. Thank-you for all the comfort and compassion you gave to our Mom. A Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Catherine's memory to the Alzheimer Society, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2, or to the Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
