ROGER LALONDE 1924 - 2014 On April 6, 2014, with his loving family by his side, dad passed away peacefully at the age of 89. Dad is predeceased by the love of his life and best friend Thérèse with whom he is now reunited. Left to mourn are his four daughters Pat (Roland), Paulette (John), Lynn (Daniel), Darlene (Rene), six grandchildren, Carol, Natalie, Michelle, Robert, Tyler, Jeremy and four great-grandchildren, Troy, Brett, Sophie, Liam, as well as many close friends. Dad was better known as "Chief" by his sons-in-law. He was kind, generous, genuine, fun loving and everyone who had the pleasure of meeting dad, loved him. There are simply not enough words to describe what a wonderful husband, dad, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend he was. For the last year and a half dad's home was at Seine River Retirement Residence which he enjoyed very much and made numerous friends and loved to play a game or two of pool. Dad always had a love of music and until recently still enjoyed playing his violin for family. Dad was not a man of many words but always seemed to get his point across and once he gave you the "thumbs up" you knew that all was good! Dad always had the "joie de vivre" but somewhat lost some of that spark when he lost mom "the love of his life" just over a year ago. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the many doctors, nurses (especially Myrna) and staff at St. Boniface General Hospital (5A South) for their wonderful care, support and compassion. In respecting dad's wishes, a private family service will be held. Memorial donations may be made in memory of "Dad" to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice. Dad, your work here is done so you can rest peacefully now. We love you and you will always be in our hearts.
