Condolences & Memories (13 entries)

  • I first met Ken in 1997, he was my mailman. He was always friendly and cheerful. In Sept of 1999 we started going out. We dated for 5 years and then we moved in together in 2004. He brought out the best in me, I am going to miss you so much Ken. We would act silly together, sing together, go shopping together. Ken loved to find a good deal. He wouldn't just buy 1 he would buy 3 or 4. Ken loved helping people. He had a great sense of humour. What am I going to do without you Ken? I love you and miss you everyday. I think I miss you most in the mornings when we would get up and have coffee together and talk about the upcoming day. Love you my sexy mailman. - Posted by: Brenda (Wife) on: May 15, 2014

  • Dear Brenda and family, Ken and I have a long history together going back to junior high. We used to go roller skating every Friday night at the Winnipeg Roller Rink downtown and sometime during the night we were usually given a "time out" by the Referees for our antics. I had a small motorcycle stored at my grandparents' garage by Polo Park during the winter months. When we moved into Southdale, we now had a garage of our own so I had to have my bike where I could work on it, so on a cold day in February, Ken and I packed up all the parts I was working on into a huge 7-Up cooler and headed to my grandparents on Winnipeg transit. Once the bike was assembled we rode on home. Coldest time ever on a bike. We always had great times together even if we were just sitting around at his home or mine. I could go on and on. Ken will always be with me and I hope he is resting in peace. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you Brenda. - Posted by: Richard Harrower and family (Friend) on: Apr 21, 2014

Ken was a geat person and could make anyone smile. He was good mechanically and knew his way around electronics. - Posted by: David and Cheryl Woods (Friend) on: Apr 21, 2014

  • Dear Brenda and Family, our deepest condolences of the loss of your husband, father and grandfather. We were neigbours across the Drake Road, he on Buttonwood Bay, us on Burning Bush Bay. He was our paperboy for the Tribune (I think) and knew everybody! Went to Beliveua Jr. High with Ken, and the big highschool, WPC. Saw him at the various reunions, always witty, always bright, and again, knew everybody. We are so sorry for your loss, wish you grace and peace during these sad times. - Posted by: Michelle Isaac (nee Campbell) ((old friend from Windsor Park)) on: Apr 18, 2014

  • Ken and I (and of course many other high school friends at the time) had the common thread of motorcycles, cars, and fun many many years ago. We went our separate ways in life quite some time ago, but there was always a warm hello and a pleasant conversation involved in chance meetings. There weren't very many good conversations about those times that his name didn't come up in, whether about his adventures (or misadventures) and the good friend and great character that he was. Such a very sad thing he's gone now, another missing spoke from the wheels of life. My very heartfelt condolences to Brenda and family, for your loss and what you must be going through now. Sincerely John. - Posted by: John Prest (Old friend) on: Apr 16, 2014

  • Brenda, family and loved ones, Please accept our sincere and deepest apologies for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. These past couple of years; I had the privilege and pleasure of meeting and sharing some wonderful times, business practices and down to earth conversations with your loved one "Ken". He was truly a sincere, down to earth individual with integrity and a passion for success as well as the drive to get it done. We had shared many long conversations these past couple of years that left me knowing the truly amazing and wonderful person that I grew to respect and appreciate as a colleague and friend. There are certain people in this world that always leave an impression on others and make this world a better place - Ken was one of those people. He was a sincere, honest and caring person to me and I only knew him a short time. So this only states his true character to people he really loved and cared about in his life. Please again accept our blessings in your journey to peace - We know that it will take time to mend your minds and will be there every step of the way to support you with whatever you need. - Kenny, may God guide you through heaven's gates to a life of peace. Sincerely, Joshua & Samantha Kass - Posted by: Josh & Samantha Kass (Friend & Business colleague) on: Apr 13, 2014
