(HELEN) ISOBEL ZILKEY (nee MCEACHEN) August 5, 1920 - April 6, 2014 Isobel passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the age of 93. She was predeceased by her husband Fred, daughter Faye Bissett, sister Nelda, brother Dennis and parents James and Ester McEachen. Left remaining are sons, Bryan (Ann), Gary (Dale), Ross (Heather), son-in-law Bill Bissett, former daughter-in-law Sharon Zilkey, sisters Eva and Audrey and sister-in-law Margaret Zilkey. There are seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren plus numerous nieces and nephews who will also remember Isobel along with some very special friends. Isobel and her husband Fred farmed for 19 years Northeast of Manitou, Manitoba until moving into Winnipeg in 1959. They started a business together called Recon Heating Supplies Ltd. which was ultimately operated by their son Ross. Isobel loved spending the summers at the cottage at Bird River until she turned 90. Thank you to the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, 4th floor units seven and six for the care that they had given Isobel. Also thank you to the staff at Misericordia Hospital Interim Unit, 5th floor C5 for their care of Isobel during her final days. A gathering of family and friends will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Glen Lawn Reception Centre, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Flowers are gratefully declined and if friends so desire, donations in memory of Isobel may be made to Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3T 0R3.
