CECILE DELORAS CARSON With sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Cecile Deloras Carson, at the Riverview Health Centre, on April 13, 2014. Cecile was predeceased by her dear husband Eugene, her parents Roy and Fleurette Carriere, sisters Gertie, May and Pauline, and brothers Raymond, Roy, Rolland and Paul. Left to cherish Cecile's memory is her daughter Janice (Les), her sons Gary (Brandi) and Don (Nancy), grandchildren Corry, Shannon, Ryan, Tessa, Andrew, Jacklyn, Maury and Tyler, great-grandchildren, Giovanni, Dominic and Lincoln, and Cecile's beloved sister Diane (Hank), as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Cecile was born in Transcona and later met the love of her life Eugene and they married in June 1948. They were happily married for 63 years until Eugene passed away in January 2012. Cecile and Eugene loved life and enjoyed many summers at the cottage at Spruce Sands with their family and made many lifelong friends. They enjoyed many vacations to such destinations as Europe, Hawaii, California, Mesa, Arizona and Florida to name a few. For more than 60 years Cecile enjoyed her husband's band, the Tip Top Four perform at various venues throughout the city. Music filled our family home and Cecile was proud to see the gift of music passed onto their children and grandchildren. Nothing would make Cecile happier than to be surrounded by her family enjoying music and laughter as they enjoyed her famous spaghetti dinners. The family would like to thank the Health Care professionals at the Grace Hospital and the Riverview Health Centre Ward 3 for their compassionate care. A Celebration of Cecile's life will be held on Thursday, April 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cecile's memory may be made to the Grace Hospital Foundation. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.
