ELIZABETH M. WITTINGER It is with regret that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Wittinger on Monday, April 14, 2014. She will be missed by her loving family, son Tibor (Lynne) Maller, son Louis (Laurie) Wittinger; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces, as well as grand-nephews and nieces in Europe and the United States. Elizabeth was born in Pestujhely, Hungary and came to Canada in 1949. She landed in Halifax after Christmas and came to Winnipeg January 1, 1950. She worked at the Middlechurch Senior's Residence. She was joined by her mother six months later. From Middlechurch, Elizabeth went into the garment industry at Monarch Wear. In 1954, while at Monarch Wear, Elizabeth met Louis and were married in January of 1955. In 1956, Elizabeth started at Tan Jay where she remained for 27 years until her retirement in 1985. Upon Louis' retirement, they moved to Lester Beach enjoying the country life for 17 years. In 2002 they returned to Winnipeg. Elizabeth was a very good hostess, loved having company and was an excellent cook. She was very devoted to her family, enjoyed travelling, especially the mountains. Since 1982, she was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 12:00 noon at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Manitoba Division, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to a charity of one's choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044
