Date of Passing: Apr 15, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANGELA POLONSKY-PERITORE It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing, on April 15, 2014, of our beloved mother, nana and great-grandmother, Angela Polonsky-Peritore (nee Compayre) (daughter of the late Kathleen and Marcel), at the Victoria General Hospital. Mom was 92. Her last moments were spent with both of her daughters at her side. Angela was predeceased by her husbands, Albert Polonsky and Andrew Peritore, her three sisters and two brothers. Mom will be greatly missed by her daughters Mia (Ray) Levin, Mercedes (Frank) Goldberg, her grandchildren, Marnie (Scott) Margolis, Jason (Ada) Goldberg, Keri (Bob) Ganz, Carlie (Junior) Damianidis, great-grandchildren, Lee, Andie, Gabriel, Leeza, Zander, Sadie, Harlow and Chloe, cousin Kay in California and her many nieces and nephews in Canada and the USA especially Jack (Debbie) Lipkin and Marsha Cowan. Angela was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. As a business woman, she worked alongside her husband, Bert Polonsky, when they owned St. Vital Pharmacy. Subsequently, Angela became a buyer for Mitchell Copp Jewellers, until 1970 when she moved to California to manage her sister Carmen's jewelry stores in both Palm Desert and Solano Beach. In 1984, Angela returned to Winnipeg to spend time with her father until his passing in 1986. Shortly thereafter she then returned to California to marry Andrew Peritore. She loved her life in California where she spent endless hours gardening, needlepointing and volunteering at a children's day-care center. Andy and Angela loved to dance at various fundraisers and especially enjoyed their many cruises. Two years after Andy's passing in 1998, Angela returned to Winnipeg to join her family and friends. Angela was remarkable - she dealt whatever life brought to her, and she did it all with courage, grace and dignity. Angela's entire family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Jack Rusen, the Simkin Centre staff and all her personal caregivers for their loyal and extraordinary care over the last five years. We also express our heartfelt thanks to Dr. A. Pacin for his exceptional and compassionate comfort care with the special assistance of the 4th Floor nurses at Victoria General Hospital. Lastly, a special thank you to Reverend Father Gerry Ward for his warm and compassionate officiating at our Angela's final resting place. We love you mom and will carry you in our hearts forever. Thank you for the gift of life and so many beautiful memories. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.

I am so sorry to read of my aunt's passing, I have a lot of child hood memories of my Aunt, especially when I visited her when she lived in Winnipeg. I always loved her laughter, she would make me laugh with her. We lost touch, but I still have a lot of fond memories. She is now in heaven with my Mom Delores this I know. - Posted by: Linda Ptachyk (neice) on: Jul 30, 2014
