KATHERINE ELISA APPLEYARD October 5, 1953 - April 14, 2014 Kathy passed away peacefully at home, with family by her side, on the morning of April 14, 2014. She will be remembered by her loving husband Allan, of 38 years, son Cody, daughter-in-law Jacky, grandson Ryan, granddaughter Madelyn, mother Florence Meyers and father-in-law Bob Appleyard. She will also be missed by her two sisters, six brothers, nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws and many friends. She was predeceased by her father Ole Meyers, and her mother-in-law Doreen Appleyard. Kathy was born and raised in Balmoral where she lived her whole life. Baseball, curling and golf were some of her favourite pastimes. Fond memories were made playing Canasta, road trips with Rick and Marg, and many camping trips with family and friends. Kathy's career was spent in sales and sales support with Motorola, the Buy and Sell, and lastly the Winnipeg Free Press, where her "girls" were still close to her heart. The family would like to thank Dr. Lowden and his staff, as well as Sharon, Cynthia and Brenda from Teulon Homecare for their excellent care which allowed us to follow Kathy's wishes to remain at home. In keeping with those wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Kathy's favourite were lilies, please plant one.
