Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySOLANGE AYOTTE (née CHARRIERE) Peacefully at the Welland Hospital, surrounded by her family, Solange passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the age of 92. Solange has been reunited with her husband of 35 years, Jacques. She was predeceased by her parents Cécile and Pierre, as well as her brothers, Antoine and Fernand. She will be sorely missed by her two children, Gérald and Monique, her daughter-in-law Francine, son-in-law David Sevcik and her five grandchildren: Christopher (Colette) Herlick, Michelle (Shawn) de Laat, Chantal (Gary) Russell, Nicole (Jeffrey) MacKay, and Stéphan. She lives on in the memories of her four great-grandchildren: Emily, Isabella, Benjamin and Ella. She also leaves to mourn her brother Marcel (Lillian) Charrière, sisters-in-law, Thérèse Charrière, Marie-Ange Ayotte and Annie Bruyère, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Solange was born on July 8, 1921, in Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes. She married the love of her life, Jacques Ayotte, on November 17, 1956. Solange worked at the Hudson's Bay Company for 18 years. Later in life she volunteered countless hours at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Solange was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had a passion for cooking, sewing, knitting, and crafts. Solange took sincere pride in the home that she created for her growing family in Winnipeg. In the latter years of her life, she cherished the quality time spent with good friends, namely Alice Clément. She enjoyed travelling, especially when her travels included visits to see her grandchildren in Calgary and St. Catharines. She celebrated her Swiss heritage throughout her life and was fortunate to travel there on many occasions to visit relatives. She was a woman of faith, and was very grateful for a life blessed with love and joy. Au revoir Mémère. You are forever in our hearts, thoughts and memories. The family would like to thank the nursing staff from the Welland Hospital in Ontario, as well as Dr. M. Ali for the exceptional care she received. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Solange to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation, C1026 - 409 Taché Ave., Winnipeg MB R2H 2A6. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens Parish, 289 Dussault Ave., Winnipeg MB, (204) 982-4400. Private interment to follow at Green Acres Cemetery. Solange est maintenant réunie avec l'amour de sa vie, Jacques Ayotte. Elle fut précédée dans la mort par ses parents Cécile et Pierre ainsi que ses frères Antoine et Fernand. Lui survivent ses deux enfants Gérald (Francine) et Monique (David) Sevcik, ainsi que ses cinq petits-enfants, dont elle était très fière: Christopher (Colette) Herlick, Michelle (Shawn) de Laat, Chantal (Gary) Russell, Nicole (Jeffrey) MacKay, et Stéphan. Elle adorait ses quatre arrière-petits-enfants: Emily, Isabella, Benjamin et Ella. Elle laisse aussi dans le deuil son frère Marcel (Lillian) Charrière, ses belles-soeurs Thérèse Charrière, Marie-Ange Ayotte et Annie Bruyère, ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces, parents et amis. Solange est née le 8 juillet, 1921, à Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes. Solange épousa Jacques, son mari de 35 ans, le 17 novembre, 1956. Elle a travaillé à la Compagnie de la Baie D'Hudson pendant 18 ans. Durant sa retraite, elle à continué d'offrir son temps comme bénévole à l'hôpital de St. Boniface. Solange fut une épouse, mère et grand-mère exceptionnelle. Elle aimait bien faire la cuisine, la couture, le tricotage et l'artisanat. Solange prenait toujours tous les petits soins pour assurer la joie de sa famille grandissante à Winnipeg. A la fin de sa vie elle chérissait surtout le temps passé en compagnie de plusieurs chers amis, notamment Alice Clément. Solange a profité de son temps libre en voyageant beaucoup, et elle a surtout aimé ses visites spéciales à Calgary et à St. Catharines pour voir ses petits-enfants. Solange était fière de son héritage suisse et elle était chanceuse de pouvoir visiter la région à plusieurs reprises. Solange était une femme de foi et elle a toujours été bénie d'amour et de joie. Au revoir Mémère. Tu seras toujours avec nous dans nos coeurs, nos pensées et nos souvenirs de ta belle âme. La famille aimerait remercier sincèrement les gardes-malades de l'hôpital de Welland en Ontario, ainsi que le Dr. M. Ali pour ses soins exceptionnels. Des dons peuvent être faits en honneur de Solange à La Fondation de l'Hôpital Saint-Boniface, C1026 - 409, ave Taché, Winnipeg MB, R2H 2A6. Les services funèbres auront lieu samedi, le 26 avril, 2014 à 11h00 à la Paroisse des Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens, 289 ave Dussault, Winnipeg MB, (204) 982-4400. Une cérémonie privée de l'inhumation des cendres aura lieu dans le cimetière Green Acres.
